In the summer of 2022, Jamie Dubs from Aarau started his apprenticeship as a designer EFZ with us, directly following the district school Aarau.
He spent the first 2 months in ÜK, the inter-company course at Libs in Baden, together with 28 other apprentices from the canton of Aargau. There, Jamie learned the basics of his profession and applied his new knowledge by hand in technical drawings.
Jamie used to want to be an inventor. With the help of his father and the career counseling service ask!, he found his way to becoming a designer and thus to us. He also looked at other apprenticeships beforehand, but at Robotec "he has more variety because something is designed, manufactured, and then usually something new comes along, plus the team is super nice."
Besides his favorite subject mathematics at the district school in Aarau, he liked the elective subjects physics and chemistry, where he was able to implement practical applications of the theoretical lessons.
Jamie finds balance in his free time in the summer by canoeing on the Aare in Aarau, printing interesting parts with his 3D printer, or taking off with his model airplanes or drone.
We are very pleased that Jamie enriches our team and wish him all the best from the bottom of our hearts.
